Brian brings a wealth of retail experience to Sol Partners. He started as an assistant buyer at Gart Bros. Sporting Goods and worked his way up the chain of command. As a senior buyer at Sports Authority, Brian managed multiple categories including wheeled goods, baseball, football, team sports, fitness, golf and racquet. As a senior buyer at Bass Pro Shops, Brian bought golf, sunglasses and camping.
After spending time as the national sales manager for Takeya and Tempercraft, Brian was recruited to Dollar Tree Stores where he was the category manager for Hardware and electronics. There he spent significant time traveling to China, as the business he managed is approximately 85% direct import. He pioneered multiple programs from the ground up in each of his buying positions. In addition to developing and supporting sales and inventory initiatives, Brian has a very creative eye, which has been integral in developing and implementing numerous products, package design, fixture design, and space planning solutions.
As a seasoned merchant, Brian has the valuable ability to connect and partner with merchants and suppliers in a way that very few people can. He knows what it takes for programs and assortments to succeed and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Although native to Colorado, Brian loves life in Texas and enjoys all the music and recreation the Texas Hill Country offers.
Christina has a knack for translating large amounts of data into a concise, palatable, executive-level summary. Christina is one of those unique rarities who thinks building Excel spreadsheets is actually fun! While her retail career technically spans back to being a teenage sales associate, Christina’s corporate career started at the Sports Authority corporate offices after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in fashion merchandising from Texas State University. At Sports Authority, she held positions in inventory management, allocation and replenishment. Following Sports Authority’s closure, Christina accepted a position managing ladies' scarves inventory for Charming Charlie and later learned the merchandising side of the business as an assistant buyer for Academy Sports + Outdoors. She moved to Virginia after an opportunity was presented at Family Dollar, where she worked as both an assortment planner and merchandise financial planner, managing the ladies' apparel category, a $170 million+ business.
Christina is the organized, numbers-focused, data and analysis powerhouse behind Sol Partners. She is detail-oriented and collaborative with an intrinsic focus on the clients' needs and exceeding expectations. She enjoys partnering with the “executers” of the retail merchandising teams, as she herself once sat in the same position. She couldn’t be happier to be living back in the great state of Texas and is proud to be the other half of Sol Partners.
